Use the snipping tool to do a screen capture. Practice searching for a file or folder and learn how to personalize your desktop with color, sounds, and pictures. This 90-minute training satisfies AACP module 5.18.
This course is for JMU employees who help troubleshoot technology issues across campus. Learn the ins and outs of the Knowledge Base & the IT Service Portal, as well as how to effectively write knowledge articles to help solve common or complex technology issues for our users. Note: all course attendees will receive access to Cherwell Service Management prior to the course.

This 3-hour course will provide you with the tools you need to communicate effectively through email and manage your schedule with Outlook's powerful calendar tools. This training is required for AACP modules 5.1 and 5.2. It is also a prerequisite for IT296 Outlook 2019: Advanced.

Learn how to complete the basic steps used to process orders through the online procurement tool for Virginia (eVA). This class is taught using the state's new eVA platform, launched November 2022. Everyone who uses eVA needs to take this workshop. This course will cover how to enter orders from different types of vendors and what the best practices are for choosing a vendor in eVA. The Request for eVA Access and the eVA Acceptable Use Acknowledgement Forms must be submitted prior to access being granted.
AiM Work Orders satisfies the training requirement for access to the IS Application. Practice entry of a work order in the AiM system, then use functions in AiM to edit or print a saved customer request, search for an existing request, and create a query for your use. This training satisfies AACP module 5.5 (only one AiM course is required, not both). Prior to attending or at the completion of the 90 minute training, submit your IS Access request (Computing/Forms). Please note that training for Work Orders is separate from Motor Pool.
AiM Motor Pool satisfies the training requirement for access to the IS Application. Practice creation of requests in the AiM system, then use functions in AiM to search for an existing request and to create a query for your use. In the AiM Application you can copy a request done in the past and simply add rates and user defined details. This training satisfies AACP module 5.5 (only one AiM course is required, not both). Prior to attending or at the completion of the 90 minute training, submit your request for access to AiM Motor Pool (training and access request are separate from AiM Work Orders).

This class is required to gain access to Cascade. It is an overview of the Cascade Version 8 system and a basic technical training for Cascade that will train users to enter via content types into Cascade and expose them to the basic fundamentals of using Cascade to publish their website. This course will look at the new Cascade Version 8 interface.
An overview of the finance process at James Madison University created primarily for AACP participants. This class will provide a background of finance systems (eVA, Finance Reports, Credit Card Reconciliation) but will not meet requirements for access to the systems. Completion of this training fulfills the requirements of AACP module 5.9 and module 5.12.
An overview of the Finance system. Topics include locating vendor and chartfield information. Generating the Monthly Detail, Summary Financial Report and nVision reports. The IIS Access Request form and training must be completed before access to the system is granted. Current users will need to complete training before being granted access. The new ePAR system will replace the paper PAR form and PAW form. This class will provide an overview of what the ePAR is and how to complete an ePAR. We will also discuss the effects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on hiring 1500 hour employees.
