4-VA is a collaborative partnership between six Virginia universities that is powered by 4 initiatives. Our mission is to promote collaborations that leverage the strengths of each partner university and improve efficiencies in higher education across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Assessment & Testing Center, located in the basement of Harper Allen-Lee Hall, is an assessment lab used solely for computer-based testing and assessment. Students can drop in for assessment testing during scheduled hours. Faculty members can also reserve the lab for group testing.

 

Canvas is a comprehensive cloud-based learning management system with an emphasis on usability for students and instructors.

Assistance with the basic operation of educational equipment in JMU's Technology Classrooms.

General use computing labs are available to the general JMU population at various locations on campus and may be reserved by faculty and staff.  A JMU JACard is required for entry into the general use labs.

Survey software tools enable researchers to build online surveys, distribute them, and analyze responses.

The Test Scoring Center provides grading and analysis of scansheets used for quizzes, tests, exams and surveys.

Online tutorials provide a variety of learning materials using the latest software tools and skills. Tutorials include MyMadison, Microsoft Office, Canvas, access to LinkedIn Learning, an online subscription library, and more.
