Can I share my documents with someone who is not a JMU employee or student?
Yes

How does sharing work?
You may share a single document, a library, or a site to users both inside and outside JMU.  The end user will get an email with the link to the shared item.

Can users be alerted when documents change?
Yes.  Users can create their own alert or a SharePoint site owner can create alerts for other users.

Are my stored documents in Sharepoint backed up?
Yes. SharePoint is backed up by Microsoft.  Deleted files can be restored from the SharePoint recycle bins up to 93 days by the site owner.  Microsoft can restore files after the 93 days.  A support ticket to Microsoft  can be submitted by the SharePoint Administrator in this case.

Is versioning available for documents?
Yes. The default configuration in document libraries is set to retain up to 500 major versions.  Any of those can be restored from the history.

Which browser works the best?
Current versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge (Chromium).
