An affiliate is any individual who has a formal affiliation with the university, and receives some services from the university, but is not a student or employee of the university, and receives no remuneration from the university. (Formal affiliation means that a necessary relationship exists between the university and the individual to provide a service of value to the university.)

Your JMU eID (also called “username” in some applications/systems) is your electronic identification that provides access to password protected websites and services, such as MyMadison, software downloads, and the JMU Official Wireless network.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional security measure to protect your intellectual property, personal information, and JMU’s data. MFA adds a step to the log-in process used to access some of JMU’s resources by requiring an individual, after entering their eID and password, to prove their identity by responding to a prompt on a mobile device, landline, tablet or token.

All JMU students, faculty, and staff can select a Chosen Name to display in many of the systems where names are displayed.
