What do I do at the Counseling Center?
Buntaro is a rescue bunny who loves pets (especially around his ears) and will nudge you with his head and chin when he wants attention! He doesn’t always love to be picked up so please ask his handler(s) before attempting to do so. They will tell you how to pick him up in the way he likes and feels most comfortable.
His nickname is Bunbun and he has multiple cat siblings who he loves a whole lot!
He does not know any commands or tricks, but he will stand up on his hind legs (it’s called periscoping) when he’s curious and wants to check something out. He also can jump/climb a lot of cat furniture.
He has quite the sweet tooth and loves fresh dandelions from the yard.
He dislikes loud noises and when his siblings get into fights. He will typically run in between them to break up a fight if needed. When he’s scared, he will thump to ask you to stop whatever you’re doing that’s scaring him and to ask you to give him space. This is rare though!
If you stop by while Buntaro is eating, it’s okay to pet him but please don’t be shocked or hurt if he doesn’t give you his full attention. Eating is important and it usually takes his full focus!
Buntaro, like many rabbits, will sleep with one or both eyes open. If you approach him while he’s sleeping, he’ll be quick to wake up and probably will want to sniff you before being pet or handled. You can tell when he’s fully relaxed or sleepy if he flops over to his side and or lays down very very flat.
