What do I do at the Counseling Center?

Hi there! I’m a doctoral intern and I am currently completing my PhD in clinical psychology at Saint Louis University. In JMU’s Counseling Center, I provide individual and group therapy for students, as well as supporting outreach across campus! My focus area in the Center is athlete mental health, and I have experience working with the unique needs of student athletes, such as injury recovery, transition, disordered eating, and performance anxiety. I also have broader clinical interest in working with students on adjustment concerns, anxiety, body image concerns, and identity development.

What is it like to work with me?

In our work together, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. Drawing from narrative, interpersonal, feminist, and self-compassion practices, I tailor our approach to your unique story and goals. We'll explore how your personal identities, social context, and lived experiences shape your sense of self, your relationships, and how you show up in the world. I believe healing is a shared journey, and together, we'll build a safe, supportive space for reflection and empowerment, and hopefully find some moments of joy along the way.

What do I do at JMU outside of the Counseling Center?

In my free time I love to get out with my dog Saki, whether that’s visiting new restaurants or hiking a new trail. I also love to lift weights, read (I love fantasy books!), experiment in the kitchen, and get into a flow state with a fun Lego set.
