What We Do
The Office of Research Integrity works with the University community to provide a variety of services related to research integrity and compliance by:

Supporting the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).

Provide consultation and guidance in the navigation of the IRB review process for Human Subject Research review.

Coordinating the translation of legislation and regulatory requirements into University policy and procedures.

Reviewing individual disclosures of potential conflicts of interest and commitment and assisting in the management or elimination of those conflicts.

Supporting the Conflict of Interest Committee (COIC).

Facilitating Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training and education that provides a basic understanding of research compliance and integrity issues.

Supporting the University's Institutional Official for human subjects research, animal subjects research, and biosafety, as well as research activities monitored by the Radiation Safety Committee and Lab Safety Committee. Support for these safety committees is provided by Risk Management.
Services

conducts presentations on various topics related to research ethics, IRB, and IACUC;

assists with preparation and submission of materials for review by compliance committees (e.g. IRB, IBC, IACUC);

conducts one-on-one pre-submission consultations;

conducts Post Approval Monitoring for animal subjects research; and

provides access to educational resources for RCR training.
