* The Virtual Focus Group has ended. Thank you to all who participated! *

The Counseling Center wants to hear from you!!
Join our BIPOC Student Focus Group
Monday, October 24th – Friday, November 4th (Extended)!

We are hosting a virtual, interactive, chat-based focus group to gather feedback and understand the unique perceptions, needs, concerns of, and barriers to access for, JMU’s BIPOC undergraduate and graduate students related to mental health support on campus. This will allow us to continue adapting our services and offerings to better support you!

We are offering an innovative, flexible format where you can join and participate virtually and anonymously anytime between the 10/24th and 11/4th and enter a raffle to win JMU gear, gift boxes, private use of the Oasis, private therapy dog office hours, and more!

Responses will be 100% anonymous! You will NOT be asked to be on video, talk, or share details of your personal mental health history or treatment.

Questions focus on:
  • Perceptions of the Counseling Center
  • Social media
  • Outreach efforts
  • Student concerns about seeking treatment; and
  • Ways that we can better meet the mental health needs for all BIPOC students even if they are not clients of the Center

Please join us to share your thoughts, and help by spreading the word to other BIPOC students as well!
