The Semester in Antwerp is an experience-based program, blending classroom theory with field trips to European businesses and sites of historic and cultural interest. The totality of the experience will result in a deep understanding of European business practices.

While in Belgium, students attend classes at the University of Antwerp with business faculty who specialize in European Integration and the effects of economic and monetary union. Beginning in Spring 2024, two tracks will be available:

  • Summer and Fall semesters are only open to College of Business majors. Admission to COB 300 is required prior to participation in this program. Students will take COB 300A-D while abroad.
  • The Spring semester is open to General Business Minors only. Admission to the General Business Minor, or declaration of a major in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Health Services Administration, Hospitality Management, or Sport and Recreation Management, is required prior to applying for the program. Four of the courses in the program, ACTG 244, FIN345, MGT 305, and MKTG 380, are included in the semester.

A fifth course, COB 301: European Business Integration, is offered during all semesters. Completion of any semester term in Antwerp will earn students a concentration in European Business. No foreign language is needed.

The priority application deadline for Semester in Antwerp is November 1st of each year, for enrollment in the following summer, fall, and spring. After November 1st, applications are accepted on a rolling basis, as space is available.
