JMU offers students the opportunity to study abroad for a semester, a summer, or a full academic year at two of the United Kingdom's oldest and most respected universities: the University of Oxford in Great Britain, and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Participants will engage in "tutorials" (individual instruction or small classes) across a wide range of customizable topics, and can have these credits fulfill major, minor, honors, or elective credit requirements back at JMU. One of the ways this program differs significantly from other JMU programs is that instead of traveling with a group of JMU students and faculty, Study At students enroll directly at the partner university as a visiting student.
We recommend these programs for juniors and seniors particularly, but well-qualified sophomores are also welcome to apply. Applicants should have a minimum 3.2 GPA.
Students interested in this opportunity should contact Study At Program Director Sara Hodges.
