Program Description

Study principles of business in a European context, and earn a Concentration in European Business, while living in one of Europe’s most historical and progressive cities. As part of your program of study, you will take trips to several major European cities and visit their businesses, governmental institutions, and cultural sites.

Live at the Montpelier House, only one block away from the University you will be attending. Places of interest are within easy walking distance. Dozens of student pubs and clubs, one of the largest movie complexes in the world, the Royal Ballet, the Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, and all pop, techno, rock and jazz concerts can be enjoyed at a reasonable student price.

Experience student life as the Europeans do. The University of Antwerp is home to students from all across Europe. Primarily a business school, the University of Antwerp specializes in European Integration and the effects of economic and monetary union.

No foreign language is needed. All course instruction is in English. Students will stay in apartments near the historic University of Antwerp, just a short train ride away from Brussels, the heart of the European Union. Even though Flemish is the official language of Antwerp, English is widely spoken. Perhaps the biggest advantage of living in Belgium is its central location in Europe which offers students great opportunities to take short train rides to cities like Amsterdam, Paris, London, Dusseldorf/Cologne, and Luxembourg on the weekends.

Note to IBUS majors: the Semester in Antwerp will not count as your semester abroad experience, since no foreign language is required.
