Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Please do not allow piggy-backing into your residence hall. Do not allow individuals to enter buildings without using their own JAC card and escort your guests at all times.
Remember to lock your room door when you are not at home and at night when you are sleeping.
JMU students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to report all suspicious persons or incidents, however minor, to the JMU Police immediately at 540-568-6911. Take notice of any person who does not belong in the area and persons loitering in hallways or common areas and report these incidents to the JMU Police.
Remain alert and observant of your surroundings. Trust your instincts. If you sense trouble, get to a safe place as soon as possible.
