Renovation Info

The renovation is scheduled to be completed by May 2026 and ready to be used in Fall 2026.

Spotswood Hall will officially be retired, and the Hall will reopen in 2026 as Alger Hall.

Alger Hall will pay tribute to former President John Alger, who served as president of JMU for 12 years and established the Madison Center for Civic Engagement, which will be housed in the Hall upon its reopening.
