An online internship can be done from anywhere, allowing students to have flexibility and freedom to work and gain professional experience remotely. Program Description:

The program consists of a 6 week internship in the field of your choice and a (3 credit) seminar course led by Kevin Chamberland, our Semester in London program coordinator. Kevin is based in London and will help students prepare for situations they will encounter in their work setting, and also process their experience.

JMU partner, CAPA, who has been placing US undergraduates in global internships for more than 25 years, will work with each student to find a placement that directly connects to their interests and career goals. Placements are made in a range of fields and industries, including:

Advertising & PR | Business | Communications | Data Analytics | Education | Finance | Fundraising & Philanthropy | Game Design & Development | Graphic Design | Healthcare & Life Sciences | Human Resources | Interior Design | IT & Computer Systems | Marketing & Communications | Sports Management | Video Editing & Animation | Web Design

*CAPA can also utilize their global connections outside of London if options are needed for your field of interest. 

Course:

  • IDLS 486: CGE Virtual Internship in London (3-credits)
    (Students wishing to satisfy departmental internship requirements must check with that department for approval and inform the program directors.)

Program Dates: July 6 – August 14, 2020 for Summer 2020

What's included:

Tuition only for 3 credits + a $250 Program Fee - Includes placement, orientation, lectures on international business, and day-to-day support from JMU and CAPA.

Summer 2020 Tuition:

  • In State: $420 per credit hour
  • Out of State: $987 per credit hour
