Sharing the treasures

At JMU the Libraries are at the heart of the University experience. Thanks to your gifts, we can provide comprehensive collections of books, journals, databases, videos, and more so that students and professors alike have the resources they need to succeed. We support educational technologies across all colleges and majors, in JMU’s classrooms and online. Your gifts help us to offer robust online learning support to faculty and students - a service that is needed now more than ever before.

Your gift means more students and professors can use our maker-spaces to cultivate creativity and support innovation in teaching, using 3D printers, electronics, laser cutters, and high-end textile equipment. Safe, welcoming spaces in the Libraries allow students to do their best work in the settings that fit their needs. Whether they’re hunkering down solo to write, working with peers on a class project, or seeking expert assistance from our librarians and technologists, JMU Libraries is there, every step of the way, teaching students to use information and new media effectively.

JMU Libraries is a values-driven organization. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to our collections, services, and programs. We support the creation of customized open-access educational resources to combat the rising cost of textbooks and make college more affordable. By participating in powerful collaborations, the Libraries put world-class collections at your fingertips, and Special Collections cares for rare and fragile materials that preserve the history of the Shenandoah Valley. All this is possible because of your generous help. Thank you for your gift to the JMU Libraries.
