Indoor Track
UREC's Indoor Track is located on level 4 of our Main Facility. There are 6 laps to a mile.
JMU Trail Loops
Due to University Boulevard Extension construction, the 3 mile loop cannot be completed as a portion of the route is blocked near the JMU Convocation Center parking lot. There is no interruption to the 1 mile and 2 mile loops.
Enjoy some time in nature on JMU's brand new trail loops, connecting UREC to the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and to UPARK.
There are 1, 2 and 3 mile loops. All distances are approximate. Hop on the trails at any point along the loops. Trail Head and directional posts have been installed. The 1 mile loop passes through the Disc Golf Course and is also marked by logs and white blaze on trees.
Expect challenging terrain. There are some steep inclines and declines. Trails are varying surfaces including chipped wood, gravel, and concrete.
Restrooms, shelter and assistance are available at University Park and the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum during respective facility operating hours. For questions or to reserve these trails for an event, please contact UREC.
UPARK Loops
- Multi-Purpose Turf Loop
- One lap around the outside of the fence surrounding the turf is 0.4 miles.
- One lap around the outside of the fence surrounding the turf is 0.4 miles.
- 5k Route
- View a map of UPARK's 5k Route. Each loop from start to finish by the Gatehouse is approximately one mile, complete three loops.
