Overview

UREC offers student participants Athletic Training services for sports related injuries! This service is provided in partnership with Sentara RMH. Our athletic trainers are licensed healthcare providers in the state of Virginia and hold the state credential of ATC (Certified Athletic Trainer).

Our Athletic Trainers can help evaluate and identify injuries, provide acute care and educate students on next steps to care for their sports injuries. Students who have been directed by a physician for physical therapy are strongly encouraged to seek care from a physical therapy clinic prior to utilizing JMU UREC Athletic Training services. The ATCs can serve as a resource for students post-PT in the transition between physical therapy and returning to exercise/sport.

The Athletic Training Room is located on the second floor of UREC to the right of the Wellness Center. Athletic Trainers will also be on-site for specific high-risk Sport Club practices, games and tournaments.

Students must register for an Athletic Training Room appointment.
