Problem solving is the basis of mathematics. While students abroad may not necessarily be solving math problems, their critical thinking skills will be improved when they are faced with foreign experiences and challenges. Study abroad also allows mathematics majors to examine mathematical applications and collaborate with like-minded professionals overseas.
See the list of recommended study abroad programs below. Please be aware that for any external or exchange study abroad programs listed, students will need to check with their academic department to see if courses taken while abroad will transfer and fulfill needed requirements.
