Application Process
- Start the online application by clicking on the "Apply Now" button below.
- Once you arrive on the application website, Terra Dotta, please select the term you wish to go abroad.
- Complete the online application and submit all supporting materials.
- Upon acceptance, the student will be responsible for paying a deposit to secure their spot in the program.
New Dukes Abroad: First Semester Program (Fall) Application
A completed New Dukes Abroad: First Semester Program application consists of the following components:
- General Applicant Information
- Short Essay Questions designed to get to know you a bit more, and the reasons for choosing the program
- Letter of Recommendation from a current or former teacher or your guidance counselor
- An unofficial transcript from their current high school.
- And a few other important items
Regular Semester in Florence Application for Continuing Students
A completed Summer, Fall or Spring Semester Abroad Program application consists of the following components:

Essay indicating the reasons for choosing this program and how the choice of courses, program structure, city, or country, relates to your past, present and future academic, career and personal goals.

First-semester transfer students and non-JMU students are required to submit an Official Transcript from their previous or current university.
For priority, students must apply by the deadline. Applications received after the program deadline will be accepted on a rolling, space-available basis until the program is full.
