Education majors study a child’s development and how to facilitate this development through teaching. Studying abroad can give students personal perspective on how this process is carried out. While studying abroad, students gain independence, an appreciation for culture and diversity, and the ability to adapt to new and/or changing environments. Some programs also give the student hands-on experience teaching in a foreign classroom.
See the list of recommended study abroad programs below. Please be aware that for any external or exchange study abroad programs listed, students will need to check with their academic department to see if courses taken while abroad will transfer and fulfill needed requirements.
