Immerse yourself in Dubai's dynamic landscape and innovative culture through a study abroad program in this vibrant city. Experience the cutting-edge advancements of the UAE while learning about the blend of tradition and modernity that defines Dubai.
This unique experience offers an in-depth exploration of the middle east culture, local traditions, and the rapid development of new urban environments, providing a comprehensive understanding of this fascinating metropolis. In this course, students will learn how Dubai builds its iconic "Smart cities," the role of technology in shaping contemporary life, and the importance of sustainability in urban planning.
Participants will engage with exciting projects related to technology and explore various smart city concepts, such as intelligent transportation systems, renewable energy solutions, computer networking, and advanced infrastructure.
The course combines enriching guest lectures, hands-on learning experiences, and captivating sightseeing opportunities, allowing students to truly connect with Dubai's remarkable spirit and vision for the future. Join us on this journey of discovery and growth in one of the world’s most dynamic cities with visits to top companies and manufactures working in technology.

Location Description

Students will spend the majority of time in Dubai, UAE with trip to Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Locatred both on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, Dubai is known for its modern skyline and vibrant international atmosphere, Abu Dhabi—the capital of the UAE—is recognized for its cultural landmarks and political significance.

Accommodations

10-12 days at Dubai, with two days at Abu Dhabi. Housing will be mainly hotels and dorms.

Most meals will be provided as a part of the program. Group Dinners will also be covered, however, some lunches and dinners will be covered by the student.

Additional Items to Consider

Background checks are required prior to departure, this to visit one of the universities at UAE.
Students will be required to have an international cell phone plan, or purchase a SIM card.

Applicant Criteria

Applicants must have a GPA minimum of 2.8.

Open to Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors in all majors, including Graduate Students and non-JMU students.

  • Attendance at program info session may be required
