Approved Athletic Logos are available on SharePoint


JMU logos are registered trademarks and can only be produced onto JMU Athletic items by those companies which are approved by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC).  For additional policy information, reference the Athletics Staff Handbook under “JMU Logo/Apparel Policies”.  A list of approved CLC's is available on SharePoint (Under Athletics/Documents)


To ensure that we are in compliance with both the CLC guidelines and Athletics Internal Policy as defined in the “Division of Athletics Staff Handbook”


  1. To ensure you are using an approved JMU logo, please visit SharePoint at the link listed above.
  2. The licensing process is coordinated through the JMU Foundation.  You can find an updated approved vendor list on SharePoint at the link listed above.
  3. Exceptions to procure from non-CLC licensed vendors may be requested for the following:

a. Item is for competition only and CANNOT be worn off the playing/competition field.       

b. Item is for competition only and is a “fill-in” type order versus entire team order.       

c. Item is a unique or difficult to procure item.

  •  Exceptions must be requested in writing with specific documentation explaining why the item cannot be procured from a licensed vendor.  Exceptions must be approved by the sport administrator and then forwarded to the Deputy Athletic Director for approval.
  • Any exceptions or purchases submitted for approval after the fact (i.e. goods have been ordered, produced, or shipped) will not be approved and will be the financial responsibility of whomever ordered them.
