Adjacent to Veterans Memorial Park, a previously mowed stream bank was restored by adding 6 trees and 19 shrubs, which provide wildlife habitat, ensure bank stabilization, and increase biodiversity. With support from a Keep Virginia Beautiful grant in 2014, this restoration project demonstrates better environmental practices while also beautifying a highly visible part of the stream in close proximity to athletic fields, residential areas, and an important community throughway.

The Memorial Hall Stream is location 6 on the tour map.
