To be completed by Undergraduate students requesting to continue enrollment at JMU following a (1st) academic suspension.

If you are currently enrolled in (or are planning to enroll in) JMU summer session classes, please wait until after all summer session classes are finished, and final courses grades are posted, to submit an appeal form. If your GPA reaches Academic Probation or Good Standing during Summer Session, submitting the appeal form will not be necessary.

For a detailed description of academic suspension policy and the continued enrollment appeal process, visit https://www.jmu.edu/acstudserv/standing.shtml

Please note that JMU Academic Suspension Policy is different from the JMU Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy, and each policy has a different/separate appeal process.  Contact the JMU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at 540-568-7820 or fin_aid@jmu.edu for information about SAP Policy and the SAP Appeal process.
