Aaron Combs joined UREC in 2008 and currently serves as the Associate Director for Facilities & Operations. During his 18 years at UREC, he has served in multiple leadership capacities, including Assistant Director for Intramural Sports & Special Events, Assistant Director of Operations, Associate Director for Programs, and Associate Director for Facilities & Operations.

Aaron earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Shepherd University and his master's degree in Sport Administration from Western Illinois University. He has completed Levels I and II of the National School of Recreational Sports Management through NIRSA. His professional honors include the VRSA Award of Merit, the Horace Moody Award for Outstanding Commitment to Student Development, and the 2019 Finest Under 40 Alumni Award from Shepherd University.

Aaron's passion is developing students and creating opportunities for them to grow personally and professionally. He has dedicated his career to campus recreation and to partnering with fellow recreation professionals to create environments that motivate students to pursue healthy, active lifestyles.

Originally from the hills of West Virginia, Aaron enjoys sports, running, strength training, and noontime basketball at UREC. He is married to Carrie Teichert Combs, Director of Corporate Engagement at the University of Virginia and a proud double Duke. They have two children, Vayda and Braxton.
