Dr. William Van Norman is an Associate Professor of History at JMU. He is the chair of Latin American and Caribbean Studies and an affiliated faculty member of LAXC, WGSS, and AAAD. His research interests include Cuba, slavery, and cultural practices. His teaching areas include Latin American and Caribbean history and culture, slavery and African Diaspora, and gender.
