Attention
Specialty Medication Administration
Students prescribed an INJECTABLE MEDICATION can be seen in Nurse Clinic and have administered by a nurse. Some examples of injectable medications are Dupixent, Xolair and Humira.
Students can self-schedule these appointments through your MyJMUChart , or call UHC Health Center to schedule appointment in the Nurse Clinic.
**Appointments can only be made once Medication/Authorization forms have been approved.
Students who need IV medication or fluid administration will be provided with a room at the health center for a Home Health Agency nurse to administer the medication or fluid if it is within business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Examples of IV medication infusions include Entyvio, Remicade, and Renflexis.
Appointments for IV infusions will be coordinated between the Patient Care Coordinator and the Home Health Agency and Student.
All students who are having medication administration for medications ordered by an outside provider must have a Medication/Order Authorization form completed by their provider. This form needs to be completed yearly. Once your provider has completed the form and faxed the information to the UHC you will receive a secure message through MyJMUChart when approved.
Student Prescription Delivery Form: for students who are prescribed injectable or IV medications only that need to be delivered to the Health Center. Once the electronic form is complete, the student will be notified when medications are delivered to UHC. All medications must be picked up the same day as delivery. The UHC is not responsible for any medications left overnight. If medications are to be administered at the Health Center, the Medication/Order Authorization form above must also be submitted.
