WELCOME TO THE JMU HEALTH CENTER ALLERGY CLINIC!

Allergy Clinic Guidelines

First-time students need to make an allergy consult appointment prior to beginning allergy shots.

Allergy Clinic Contract - Kindly print, sign, and present this document at your initial appointment.

JMU students who have started an allergy desensitization program (allergy shots) with an allergist can get their shots at the UHC during the regular school year. Charges apply. Please note: We will not administer first doses of allergy injections.

For all students - Allergy Immunotherapy Administration Form must be completed by your allergy physician.

The completed form may be mailed with the allergy extract or brought to the UHC with the allergy extract. (Sample of a completed Allergy Extract Administration Form)

Each vial of allergy extract must be labeled with:

  • Patient's name
  • Name of the antigen(s)
  • Dilution
  • Expiration date

Allergy shots are administered by appointment during regular business hours and must be scheduled at least one full business day prior to your appointment. You will need to wait in the Allergy Clinic waiting area for 30 minutes after receiving your injections. Log-in to MyJMUChart to make an appointment.

  • ALL ALLERGY SERUM/RECORDS MUST BE AT THE UNIVERSITY HEALTH CENTER AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO RECEIVING INJECTIONS.

If you receive allergy shots from the Allergy Clinic, you may contact us to arrange for pick-up of your serum or to have it shipped to you (please note your allergy serum may be shipped via standard mail without ice packs.)

  • For pick-up of allergy serum and records, call 540-568-6178 to schedule a time.
  • To have your allergy serum shipped, call 540-568-6178 and ask to speak with Allergy Clinic staff.
