Application Deadline

The JMU graduate application will open April 28. This is a two-part process. 

Competitive candidates who have submitted both the CASPA application and JMU Graduate School application by the deadline of June 15th will be invited for an on-campus interview. Positions are offered on a rolling basis until the class is full. Please note that the CASPA application must be complete by June 15th and verified by July 15th.

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

The application is a two-part process.

Applicants must also apply through the Central Application Service of Physician Assistants (CASPA). Complete the JMU Graduate School application and once completed, download this application as a PDF file. Complete the CASPA application and upload your JMU Graduate application PDF file into "Documents" section on your CASPA application.

Applicants must have a minimum of 1,000 hours of direct patient contact health care experience, and several specific prerequisite courses - some of which require a grade of "B" or higher and others that require a grade of "C" or higher.

GRE General Test. Send official scores to the CASPA central application, code number 7442. MCAT is not accepted and is not a substitute for the GRE.
