Students Talking

Choosing a major doesn't have to happen all at once. Asking yourself a few key questions can help you figure out what direction makes sense for you.

Start With These Questions

As you explore majors and minors, ask yourself:

  • Do the classes sound interesting to me?
  • Can I meet the requirements for this major? (some majors have GPA and/or course requirements)
  • Do the careers connected to this major interest me?

If your answer to these quetions is motsly yes, it might be a major worth exploring further.

Think about:

  • Are thre deadlines or applications for this major?
  • Wold changing mjors affect when you graduate?

Family can play an important role in your decisions.

  • What expectations does my family have?
  • How do these expectations align with what I want?

Ask yourself:

  • Am I interested in continuing my education after college?
  • Am I willing to invest the time needed for that path?
