If you are earning a transferable associate degree from VCCS or Richard Bland other than the degree listed in the transfer guide above, your time to graduation may or may not be impacted. You will still qualify for the general education waiver at JMU. In addition, you may want to consider following the guidance for equivalent courses in this major.

You should choose courses at your current school that satisfy specific general education AND major requirements at JMU. In addition, to be considered a competitive student for admission, you should have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and successfully completed college course work in these core subject areas: English, mathematics, social science and lab science.

Advising Notes:
- ITE 120 transfers as COB 204 only from BRCC, LRCC and PVCC and ITE 100 transfers from Nova as COB 204. ITE 140 does not satisfy this requirement.
- Direct admission to the College of Business requires completion of all 9 courses listed above and shown in the B.B.A. Business Management Transfer Guide with at least a B in ACC 211, statistics, BUS 227, BUS 270, ECO 201, ECO 202 and ITE 120; at least a C in ACC 212 and calculus; and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Students who do not meet direct admission requirements listed in note #3 must earn a B- average (2.7) in the remaining prerequisites taken at JMU in order to be fully admitted to the College of Business. This could add time to graduation.
Additional Notes:
- The ideal pathway from VCCS to this major is the A.S. in Business Management (consult the B.B.A. Business Management Transfer Guide).
- Differential Tuition for the College of Business majors/minors: Students will be charged an additional $50 per credit for all COB courses (with the exception of ECON 200). Read more about Differential Tuition.
