Many students in our department study abroad at some point during their JMU careers. If you decide to conduct a study-abroad program (whether through JMU or via some other university), please check with your major advisor to clarify if and how the courses offered might count toward your JMU degree.

Over half of our department's faculty have led study-abroad programs. If you'd like advice on studying abroad, reach out to a faculty member.

Remember that the application deadline for all JMU undergraduate study-abroad programs is November 1, 2019 with regard to summer 2020, fall 2020, and spring 2021 opportunities. A number of these undergraduate programs are now accepting applications on a rolling, first-come/first-served basis; you can see the list of open JMU programs at: https://www.jmu.edu/global/abroad/all-programs/index.shtml

While this webpage focuses on undergraduate study-abroad opportunities in public & international affairs, our department's faculty also direct a master's program in Italy focused on European Union Policy Studies.
