Living ON CAMPUS

If you are living ON CAMPUS, you will move into your assigned dorm the same day as MRD camp registration: WEDNESDAY, August 13. Camp registration and dorm move-in are two completely separate processes. Residence Hall move-in will take place 9am-Noon

VISIT the JMU Residence Hall Move-In Website.

CONFIRMATION: All JMU Students should receive confirmation of their housing assignment and move-in date by August 8.

If you have specific questions about this process, receive a move-in confirmation date that is NOT August 13, or do not receive any information about housing from JMU, please contact the JMU Office of Residence Life.

Living OFF CAMPUS

All MRD members who are living OFF campus should have confirmation from their property manager(s) of their move-in date. Memos have been sent to your apartment complex to confirm your membership with our program and the start date of our required pre-season camp.

Please double check with your property manager to make sure your move-in is arranged in time for our pre-season camp on Wednesday, August 13.

CAMP MEALS

Meals for all MRDs will begin at DINNER on WEDNESDAY, August 13.

FOR 2025 – Meals (“swipes”) will be loaded onto individual JACards. You will use your student ID to swipe into meals during camp:

  • FIRST-YEAR MEMBERS: You will begin using your regular meal plan at dinner on Friday.
  • ALL OTHER MEMBERS: The band office will provide meals on your JACard through dinner on Monday.
  • If family/friends wish to have lunch with you during the first day of camp (between registration and move-in), they are welcome to purchase a meal ticket at D-Hall.

NOTE: If you do not have a JMU ID (i.e. BRCC, EMU, staff, etc.), you will receive an email with details about how we will be handling your pre-season camp meals.

PARKING

If you are planning to park your vehicle on campus during the school year, it must be registered with JMU Parking Services by the first day of classes (August 19).

  • If you have a valid permit from last year (2024-25), these expires in May.
  • If you are not planning to purchase a semester permit, but need parking access during camp, please contact Parking Services – they will inform you of your best option(s).
  • Commuter/student permits are virtual and can be obtained by visiting: https://www.jmu.edu/parking/index.shtml
  • All STUDENTS should park in COMMUTER lots/spots. For MRD practices: Champions Parking Deck, Warsaw Parking Deck, R-1 (by football grass).
