The James Madison University Global Academy for Future Leaders is a three-week, in-person summer program designed to prepare students to become global leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers through interdisciplinary learning and hands-on experiences.

The program takes place at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA.

The program runs from July 13 to July 31, 2026, with a virtual orientation held prior to the start date. Travel dates are flexible.

The program is open to students from JMU’s international partner universities as well as current JMU students who are interested in global leadership and future career development.

Participants will complete three core courses:

  • AI & Future Learning
  • Future Skills for Global Employability
  • Leadership, Innovation, and Workforce Development
  • An optional English as a Second Language (ESL) course is also available.

The program fee of USD $3,250 includes:

  • Campus housing
  • Lunches on campus
  • Course materials
  • Program-related excursions and transportation
  • Admission tickets
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off

International airfare, some meals, and personal expenses are not included.

  • Monday & Wednesday: Courses 1 and 2
  • Tuesday & Thursday: Course 3 and optional ESL
  • Friday: Academy Project Day
