Designed and taught by JMU faculty and professional staff, sessions will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate a rapidly evolving, globally connected world.
Session 1: AI & Future Learning
Explore how artificial intelligence is shaping learning, work, and society, with a focus on ethical AI use, data verification, and human-centered skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, and responsible decision-making.
Session 2: Future Skills for Global Employability
Develop career readiness through career exploration, job and internship search strategies, communication skills, and professional adaptability in a global and AI-influenced workforce.
Session 3: Leadership, Innovation, and Workforce Development
Examine how Virginia’s leadership traditions, innovation ecosystems, and workforce development models connect local practice to global solutions through field experiences and site visits.
Optional: English as a Second Language (ESL)
An optional English as a Second Language (ESL) workshop is available for students seeking to strengthen academic English proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills.
Academy Project
Throughout the program, students collaborate in small interdisciplinary teams to design and develop a project addressing real-world challenges at the intersection of AI, future skills, and global leadership. The experience culminates in a final presentation where teams showcase their ideas, insights, and solutions.
