For 29 years, the Journal of Conventional Weapons Destruction has served as the world’s leading publication that supports information exchange and disseminates research on cutting-edge technologies, operational practices, and contextual knowledge to promote excellence and integrity in the weapons stabilization and humanitarian mine action sectors.

CISR was privileged to receive collaboration and support from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement to launch the Journal and guide its evolution over the years. Now, CISR partners with external organizations to publish special issues and series of the Journal.

To inquire about partnering with CISR on Journal publication or other forms of research dissemination and exchange, contact Assistant Director Nicole Neitzey at neitzenx@jmu.edu

The Journal is your voice to the CWD community

The Journal of Conventional Weapons Destruction is an international forum for issues related to post-conflict environments and explosive hazards clearance for the conventional weapons destruction (CWD) community—including humanitarian mine action (HMA) and physical security and stockpile management (PSSM). The Journal is a platform for practitioners, researchers, governmental and nongovernmental organizations working in HMA, PSSM, and the wider development and humanitarian sectors to share emerging technologies, program information, research and development, and best practices. Since its launch in 1997, The Journal has functioned as a historical resource for the mine action community, presenting a chronological reflection on the vast developments within the sector.
