Founding Partner: College of Education

The Education Lab is a collaborative workspace within the Center for International Stabilization and Recovery (CISR) dedicated to exploring the transformative role of education in post-conflict recovery, humanitarian response, and sustainable development. The Lab provides students, faculty, and partners with a space to collaborate on research, share ideas, and develop projects that strengthen communities through learning.

Our inital project is Protecting the Youngest: Strengthening Explosive Weapons Risk Education for Children Under Six. In partnership with UNICEF, CISR and JMU CARE are joining an interagency task force to advise on best practices, informed by early childhood development research, in risk education for very young children facing explosive weapons contamination in their communities. We are proud to join this effort to bring rigorous academic expertise to children, caregivers, and education providers who need this life-saving information most.
