Kohle Nash makes a habit out of owning experiences.

Spend a few minutes with Nash, and you’ll be convinced that he will reach his goal of creating a record label—and that his JMU journey is helping him pave the way.

“I’ve always known I’ve wanted to be a business major,” the marketing major and music industry minor says. “My friends back home make a lot of music, and I kind of want to make a platform for them to put our hometown on the map and to showcase all the talent my friends have.”

For Nash, the College of Business’s marketing curriculum “is helping me learn how to sell myself and get a good grasp about how to talk to people.”

Nash is no stranger when it comes to getting involved. His impressive list of JMU service includes being Class of 2027 class president, Black Student Alliance participation and most recently having met Swae Lee thanks to being a part of the JMU University Program Board’s Amplify committee.

JMU makes it easy for you to get out there and make a change, he says. “I feel like I’m really making my mark here,” Nash says, adding, “and I really appreciate JMU for instilling in me that confidence to do what I can do for myself and for others.”
