There are two freshman application options to choose from and you only need to submit one. We have no preference between the two application platforms.

We recommend selecting the option that best complements your college search and application process. If you're unsure which to select, learn more about each one.

Transfer applicants use the ApplyWeb Application. Due to technical difficulties JMU does not accept the Common App for transfer appplicants.

Checking your Application Status

After submitting your online application, you will be sent an email with instructions on how to activate your JMU e-ID. Once activated, you will gain access to the Applicant Center in MyMadison. The email notification may take 3-5 days after submitting your application.

During the busy application season, our office receives thousands of documents electronically and via the postal mail. We are working as quickly as possible to complete your application.
