Hillcrest Scholarship to travel to India in the summer of 2016.

What did you do with your Hillcrest Scholarship?

I worked with an NGO in India doing community development work. Some of the work involved working at an elementary school, adding plumbing to a rural area, and building solar panels in tribal settlements.

What is your favorite memory from your Hillcrest Scholarship experience?

My favorite memories involve the people I was able to meet there. I lived in a house with Subish (who spoke English), another American, and an Austrailian. Since I was able to share this expierence with two other native English speakers, we became especially close.

What piece of advice would you give to Honors College students?

Cherish the people that you have in your life. When I was in India, the internet access was inconsistent, which made me appreciate the people I was actually with even more.
