Kristina Blyer came to the Health Center in 2004. Her previous experience was as a pediatric nurse in both the hospital and in home health. Transition from pediatrics was a natural progression for Kristina. “College is a time when students transition from having their health care managed by their parents, to learning to manage their own health care. I feel privileged to be in a role where I help empower students to take control of their own health. Another thing I love about college health is that our student population is constantly changing. We have to stay up-to-date with current trends in the population, generation changes, and new health concerns. Being aware of these changes and implementing new services to meet our students’ needs makes my job interesting!”

Spending time with her husband and 3 kids is very important to Kristina. She also enjoys gardening, reading, and learning new skills (she is currently learning to make braded rugs!).
