Sport and Recreation Concentration Graduate Assistantships

If you are interested in the Sport or Recreation Concentration, SR currently does not offer GA positions within the department, however, there are a number of sport and/or recreation related GA positions throughout JMU, and we have created Graduate Assistantships with external community partners such as Harrisonburg High School Athletic Department, Shenandoah Valley United Soccer, and Bridgewater College Athletics Department. A large number of past SRL students have received GA positions at JMU and there are positions available each year with our external community partners. On-campus graduate assistant positions can be found at https://joblink.jmu.edu/. Sport and Recreation Concentration Scholarships

SRL offers four (4) scholarships based on need in the amount of $8,000 for the 2018-2019 academic year. CLICK HERE for guidelines and the application process. If you have any questions, contact Ben Carr at 540-830-2000.

Campus Recreation Concentration Graduate Assistantships

If you are interested in the Campus Recreation Leadership Concentration, those students have first priority in obtaining GA positions offered through UREC (JMU's student recreation facility) such as the Intramural and Fitness GA positions.  Other students interested in GA positions with UREC, can apply, however, it is unlikely that a non-Campus Recreation student would receive those GA positions.  If you are interested in the Campus Recreation Concentration and/or have interest in the UREC GA positions, click HERE.
