To be considered for a Kinesiology Graduate Teaching Assistantship, applications for program admission and an assistantship must be received by March 1. Applications for admission to the program (without consideration for a Kinesiology Assistantship) will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis but must be received by July 1 for Fall admission and November 1 for Spring admission.

 Fall, Spring

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

• GRE General Test  - is not required for applications for Fall 2024. 

Beginning Spring 2025, GRE General Test is required for the following:

• International students
• Applicants with an undergraduate cumulative GPA<3.5
• All applicants with an undergraduate major not directly related to Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science/Kinesiology

GRE optional for the following:
