Application Deadline
The Communication Sciences and Disorder/Doctor of Philosophy program's application opens on Sept 1. The deadline for guaranteed consideration for funding is January 31st. After January 31st, we will continue to review applications and admit students on a space-available basis.

Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.
Required by Program
- A curriculum vitae
- Personal statement regarding your career goals, reasons for pursuing a doctoral degree and areas of research interest
- Three letters of recommendation
- GRE General Test - students may request the GRE be waived. Contact the Program Director for more information.
- Must participate in a personal interview and the interview can be by Zoom.
