Fall application review: The first review is on January 15 and subsequent reviews occur the second week of each month until the July 1 deadline or until the class is filled, whichever comes first.

To be considered for a scholarship, all application materials must be submitted by April 15.

Program Begins

MBA Innovation - Fall admission only. Admission is limited to 25 students.

MBA Information Security - Fall admission only. Admission is limited to 25 students.

MBA Executive Leadership - Fall admission only. Admission is limited to 25 students.

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

Innovation and Information Security

  • Current resume
  • Personal Statement - 250 words in length
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Minimum two years of professional work experience beyond completion of undergraduate degree
  • Three prerequisites which must be satisfied prior to beginning MBA coursework - undergraduate statistics course, undergraduate accounting course, and undergraduate microeconomics course.
  • Residency requirement: 
    • Innovation - periodic on-site meetings in Harrisonburg, VA
    • Information Security - periodic on-site meetings in Tysons Corner, VA                         

Executive Leadership

  • Current resume
  • Personal Statement - 250 words in length
  • One letter of nomination from a senior-level officer at your current employer outlining past leadership experience and career path leading toward a C-suite or comparable high level management position.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience beyond completion of undergraduate degree
  • Three prerequisites which must be satisfied prior to beginning MBA coursework - undergraduate statistics course, undergraduate accounting course, and undergraduate microeconomics course
  • Residency requirement is to have periodic on-site meetings in Tysons Corner, VA

Test Requirements for Business Administration - GMAT preferred; GRE acceptable if applicant has already taken the test prior to application. You are not required to submit tests if you have a master's degree from an accredited U.S. institution.

GMAT/GRE waiver may be granted to applicants who can demonstrate five or more years of professional work experience (beyond completion of their undergraduate degree). Please submit a current resume and an unofficial copy of your undergraduate transcript(s) to mba@jmu.edu for GMAT/GRE waiver consideration.

Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if native language is not English, unless you have earned a degree from a U.S. institution
