Ruqayyah Byrd is a third-year undergraduate student at James Madison University, majoring in Psychology with a focus in Coaching Education. She aspires to pursue a career in sports psychology, with an interest in understanding how mental skills and mindsets can enhance athletic performance. Through JMU's McMillian Center, Ruqayyah currently shadows a graduate program, where she gains valuable insights into the importance of mental performance in athletics. She also has a growing interest in African American literature and enjoys exploring works with diverse perspectives. In her free time, Ruqayyah enjoys running and going on walks in parks.
