Innovation Leader

Alexis Anderson is a third year music education major from Natural Bridge, Virginia. Since 2016 Alexis has helped facilitate inclusive music making in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County communities. She has collaborated with peers to plan JMUke projects, facilitate workshops at Gemeinschaft Home, co-facilitate an elementary school ukulele building club, and curate exploratory musical experiences for young children. Alexis has also presented research and recommendations for best practice at JMU’s annual Celebration of Innovation in Music Learning and Teaching. Her research interests include handedness in instrumental music instruction.
