Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah (Op. 70) is one of the epic choral masterworks of all time alongside Handel’s Messiah and Haydn’s The Creation, depicting events in the life of the Biblical prophet Elijah. Mendelssohn’s lyricism and use of orchestral and choral colors clearly reflect his genius as an early Romantic composer. More
