Baker’s scholarly agenda is focused on crossing boundaries and disciplines, perhaps best exemplified by her lecture recital on Marian Anderson and her solo recording featuring songs of American composers. Baker is fully committed to advocating for diverse communities and environments that embrace multiple peoples and perspectives. To this end, she serves on several university committees, oversees both faculty and student recruitment efforts in the college, and serves as a mentor both on campus and off.
