In many cases, you may still be able to complete requirements for your intended major at JMU and qualify for the general education waiver through a different associate degree. You should choose courses at your current school that satisfy specific general education AND major requirements at JMU. In addition, to be considered a competitive student for admission, you should have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and successfully completed college course work in these core subject areas: English, mathematics, social science and lab science.

Advising Notes:
- Students who complete a full year of organic chemistry at the community college will receive credit for the both CHEM 241 and 242 at JMU. Both courses must be taken at VCCS/RBC to receive credit at JMU.
- Labs must be in-person, supervised experiences.
